PROMAD Infotech Foundation is a leading civic tech nonprofit organisation dedicated to promoting civic participation, youth empowerment, digital futures, accountability in governance and sustainable development through innovative programmes. We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphics and Product Design Associate to join our team in Abuja, Nigeria. This role will play a pivotal part in enhancing our visual storytelling, branding, and digital presence across all project portfolios. The ideal candidate will be passionate about using designs and creatives to drive social impact, with a strong ability to translate complex ideas into engaging visuals that align with our mission of fostering accountable governance and community engagement.
The Graphics and Product Design Associate will report to the Communications and Programme Manager and collaborate closely with teams across PROMAD’s core initiatives, the innovation arm (focusing on tech prototypes, training and digital tools), and the Academy (emphasising educational materials and online platforms).
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptual Design and Visual Development: Create innovative design concepts for campaigns, events, and initiatives, ensuring alignment with PROMAD’s brand guidelines and strategic goals for 2026-2030, and donor requirements. This includes brainstorming and iterating on ideas to visually represent themes like civic tech, youth innovation, and sustainable development.
- Flyer and Promotional Material Design: Develop eye-catching flyers, posters, banners, and infographics for outreach activities, workshops, and awareness campaigns across PROMAD’s projects, including those under the innovation arm, StackLabs and the Academy.
- Report and Document Design: Design professional layouts for annual reports, project evaluations, policy briefs, and research publications, incorporating data visualisations, charts, and illustrations to make complex information accessible and impactful.
- Content Creation Support: Assist in the creation of multimedia content, such as social media graphics, video, email newsletters, and website visuals, to support storytelling and engagement efforts. Collaborate with content creators in the team to ensure cohesive branding.
- Digital Product Design: Develop and design digital products, including user interfaces (UI) for apps, websites, and online platforms for PROMAD and StackLabs, the innovation arm. This may involve wireframing, prototyping, and user experience (UX) enhancements for tools like civic tech apps or e-learning modules in the Academy.
- Branding and Identity Management: Maintain and evolve PROMAD’s brand identity across all portfolios, including creating style guides, logos, and templates. Ensure consistent branding in partnerships, events, and digital outputs.
- Collaboration and Iteration: Work with cross-functional teams to gather feedback, revise designs based on stakeholder input, and ensure all outputs are culturally sensitive and inclusive. Stay updated on design trends relevant to nonprofits and civic tech.
- Technical Support: Manage design software tools, file organisation, and asset libraries to streamline workflows.
This is a full-time position based in Abuja, with occasional remote flexibility and potential travel for field activities.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any related field with certification from a recognised institution. Strong demonstration of the use of Adobe Creative Suite, UI/UX design tools like Figma or Sketch are highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in graphic design, product design, or a similar role, preferably in a nonprofit, NGO, or creative agency setting. Experience in branding for social impact projects, digital product prototyping, or civic tech initiatives is a strong plus.

- Skills:
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Figma, or equivalent tools.
- Strong understanding of typography, colour theory, layout principles, and digital accessibility standards.
- Basic knowledge of web design (HTML/CSS) and motion graphics is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present design rationales and incorporate feedback.
- Familiarity with Nigerian cultural contexts and nonprofit branding challenges.
- Personal Attributes: Creative thinker with a passion for social change; detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work under tight deadlines in a collaborative environment.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
To ensure accountability and measure the impact of the Graphics and Product Design Associate’s contributions, performance will be evaluated quarterly based on the following KPIs:
- Output Volume and Timeliness: Produce at least 15-20 design deliverables per month (e.g., flyers, reports, digital assets), with 95% completion within agreed deadlines. Measured via task scheduling tools like Monday.com, Google Workspace, etc.
- Quality and Feedback Metrics: Achieve an average stakeholder satisfaction score of 4.5/5 from internal reviews and client feedback surveys on design quality, creativity, and alignment with brand standards.
- Engagement Impact: Designs contributing to a monthly 30% increase in social media engagement (likes, shares, views) or website traffic for PROMAD’s campaigns, tracked through analytics tools like Google Analytics or social platform insights.
- Innovation and Efficiency: Contribute to at least 2-3 new digital product prototypes or branding updates per quarter for PROMAD, the innovation arm, StackLabs and the Academy, with measurable improvements in user feedback (e.g., UX testing scores above 80%).
- Collaboration and Professional Development: Participate in 100% of team design reviews and complete at least one professional development activity (e.g., online course or workshop) per quarter to stay current with design trends.
These KPIs will be reviewed during performance appraisals, with opportunities for bonuses or professional growth for exceeding targets.
Remuneration Package
- The annual remuneration for this role is between 2,100,000.00 NGN and 2,520,000.00 NGN, depending on experience and qualifications. This includes benefits such as health insurance, paid leave (15 days annually), and pension contributions. Others, such as travel, professional development and end-of-the-year packages, are provided based on need and availability of financial resources. Salaries are subject to annual review based on performance and organisational funding.
