PRESS STATEMENT

In a significant move towards enhancing collaborations, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring long-term sustainability, PROMAD is pleased to announce the creation, renaming, and restructuring of several departments to meet its growth needs.

According to our founder and executive Daisi Omokungbe in a memo on Monday, the restructuring is part of the organisation’s commitment to scale its work in driving accountable democratic governance, participation and sustainable development through innovative and data-driven approaches.

The newly created and renamed departments are:

  • Research, Analytics and Insights Department (RAID)

This newly established department is tasked with strengthening PROMAD’s research capabilities. By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), data and analytics, RAID will generate actionable insights to inform advisory services, advocacy campaigns and policy interventions aimed at fostering democratic governance and driving sustainable reforms in the public sector.

  • Finance and Compliance Department (FCD)—formerly Finance and Fundraising Department.

The renamed department will oversee financial planning, management, and budget development, as well as internal and external controls by enforcing all financial management-related policies within the organisation. Its expanded responsibilities include procurement management, funds disbursement, overseeing asset register and payroll management, accounting, tax remittances, internal audit and collaboration with external auditors and regulatory authorities to ensure continued compliance with financial and regulatory provisions set by the government.

  • Technology and Innovations Department (TID)—formerly Technology, Research, and Innovation Department.

The Technology and Innovations Department will focus on integrating advanced technological solutions into PROMAD’s operations. This department will support the design, development, management and evaluation of the performance of AI and civic tech products, digital assets including websites and mobile applications, and other productivity tools. TID will also oversee the maintenance and functionality of the organisation’s technical equipment, ensuring smooth operations and driving innovation and excellence.

Other departments include the Administration and Operations Department (AOD); Programmes and Partnerships Department (PPD); Impact and Communications Department (ICD) and Office of the Founder and Executive Director (OFED) will continue to operate under their current mandates, providing critical support and maintaining their key roles within the organisation:

“These structural changes and efforts are being undertaken to match our strategy and put in place structures to accommodate our fast growth as a nonprofit and civil society organisation engineered to shape development and drive lasting change in Africa,” Omokungbe said.

As a commitment to growth, PROMAD will continue to scale its programmes, campaigns, accountability and partnership initiatives and, therefore, will commit to expanding its team by recruiting additional personnel in the coming months to support these ambitious goals.
