Job Description
The Graphics & Visual Officer will be responsible for designing and producing visual assets, maintaining PROMAD’s brand integrity, and supporting communication campaigns that align with the organisation’s strategic goals. The role requires creativity, technical expertise, and collaboration with the ICD team and other departments to translate the initiatives of PROMAD and its innovation arm into impactful visual narratives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Graphic Design and Visual Content Creation:
- Design engaging visual assets, including infographics, social media graphics, banners, posters, and reports, to support PROMAD and its innovation arm’s programmes and campaigns.
- Create multimedia content, such as short videos, animations, or motion graphics, to enhance storytelling and stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure all visual outputs align with PROMAD’s brand guidelines and reflect its mission and values.
- Branding and Brand Management:
- Maintain and update PROMAD’s brand identity, including logos, colour schemes, typography, and templates, to ensure consistency across all platforms.
- Develop branded materials for events, publications, and promotional campaigns to enhance PROMAD’s visibility and credibility.
- Monitor and enforce brand compliance in all internal and external communications.
- Communications Support:
- Collaborate with the ICD team to develop visual content for advocacy campaigns, social media, newsletters, and website updates.
- Translate complex data (e.g., research findings, policy insights) into accessible and visually appealing formats, such as reports, infographics or dashboards.
- Support the creation of presentations and pitch decks for stakeholder meetings, donor engagements, and conferences.
- Digital and Print Production:
- Prepare print-ready materials, such as brochures, flyers, and annual reports, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to deadlines.
- Optimise digital assets for various platforms, including social media, websites, and email campaigns, to maximise reach and engagement.
- Manage relationships with external vendors (e.g., printers) to ensure timely and cost-effective production.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Research, Analytics and Insights Department (RAID) to visualise research outputs and policy recommendations.
- Partner with programme teams to create tailored visuals for community outreach, training sessions, and advocacy events.
- Engage with external partners, such as media outlets or creative agencies, to amplify PROMAD’s campaigns.
- Innovation and Capacity Building:
- Stay updated on design trends, tools, and technologies to enhance PROMAD’s visual communications.
- Train ICD staff and other team members, and partners on basic design tools or brand guidelines to improve internal capacity.
- Explore innovative formats, such as interactive visuals or augmented reality, to elevate PROMAD’s storytelling.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Visual Arts, Communications, Multimedia Design, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in design or multimedia are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in graphic design, visual content creation, or branding, preferably in the non-profit, development, or communications sector.
- Proven experience using design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
- Experience with web design tools (e.g., Canva, Figma, WordPress) and social media content creation is highly desirable.
- Portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, including infographics, branding materials, knowledge products and multimedia content.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong creative and artistic skills with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Proficiency in graphic design, video editing, and animation tools to produce high-quality visual content.
- Ability to translate complex ideas or data into clear, engaging, and accessible visuals.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of branding principles and experience in maintaining brand consistency across platforms.
- Basic understanding of communications strategies, including social media and digital marketing.
- Familiarity with data visualisation techniques to support research and policy outputs.

- Number of visual assets produced annually (e.g., infographics, social media posts, videos) (Target: At least 60 high-quality assets per year).
- Stakeholder feedback on the creativity, clarity, and alignment of visuals with PROMAD’s brand (Target: 85% positive feedback).
- Branding Consistency:
- Percentage of visual outputs adhering to PROMAD’s brand guidelines (Target: 95% compliance).
- Successful updates or enhancements to brand assets (e.g., templates, logos) (Target: At least 4 major annual updates).
- Communications Impact:
- Engagement metrics for visual content on social media, newsletters, or websites (e.g., likes, shares, views) (Target: 20% increase in engagement year-on-year).
- Number of advocacy campaigns or reports enhanced by visual content (Target: At least 4 campaigns per year).
- Data Visualisation Effectiveness:
- Number of research or policy outputs translated into visual formats (e.g., infographics, dashboards) (Target: At least 10 per year).
- Usability and stakeholder satisfaction with data visualisations (Target: 90% satisfaction rate).
- Timeliness and Project Management:
- Percentage of design projects completed on time and within budget (Target: 90% on-time delivery).
- Efficient management of external vendors or production processes (Target: 100% adherence to agreed timelines and costs).
- Innovation and Capacity Building:
- Introducing new design tools, formats, or technologies to enhance PROMAD’s visual communications (Target: At least 3 innovations per year).
- Number of training sessions conducted for staff and partners on design tools or brand guidelines (Target: At least 4 sessions per year).

- Successful collaboration on cross-departmental projects requiring visual support (Target: Contribution to at least 4 joint initiatives annually).
