No More Hidden Budgets, No More Abandoned Projects: The Launch of IsunawaAI and FollowTheProjects

At PROMAD, we believe that meaningful change happens when citizens are informed, engaged, and empowered to take action. The month of March marked a significant milestone in amplifying this belief with the official public launch of two of our civic tech tools, IsunawaAI and FollowTheProjects.

These platforms are more than just digital tools; they are practical solutions designed to bridge the gap between citizens and governance.

IsunawaAI is built to simplify participatory budgeting and make public finance more accessible to everyday Nigerians. For many citizens, understanding government budgets can feel complex and out of reach. IsunawaAI changes that. It provides clear, accessible information on what projects have been budgeted for and how much has been allocated to them. With this tool, citizens can ask questions, find answers, and stay informed about how public funds are planned and distributed. Ultimately, it enables a deeper understanding of government priorities and spending.

On the other hand, FollowTheProjects focuses on what happens after the budget is approved. It empowers citizens and communities to track the implementation of government projects in real time and demand accountability where it matters most. By making it easier to monitor, track and report progress of public projects. The platform helps tackle one of the most persistent challenges in public service delivery: abandoned or poorly executed projects.

But these platforms only come alive when people like you use them.

So we’re inviting you to be part of this movement:

  • Sign up and explore: https://followtheprojects.org/
  • Use the platform to stay informed and ask questions
  • Share it with your friends, family, and networks. Encourage them to sign up
  • Report and track projects or carry out needs assessments that matter to you and your community. By doing this, you help keep local, state, and national representatives informed, accountable, and responsive to the needs that truly matter to your community.

Together, these tools mark a bold step forward in our mission to leverage technology for civic engagement. By placing data and information directly in the hands of citizens, we are strengthening the connection between governance and the people it serves.

This is what innovation looks like when it is built for the people. It is easy, inclusive, and driven by the belief that every citizen deserves a voice in shaping the Nigeria we want.
