PROMAD Infotech Foundation today announces the official launch of its 2026–2030 Organisational Strategy, a bold five-year roadmap to scale evidence-based civic technology solutions that deepen citizen participation, strengthen accountability, accelerate digital futures and sustainable development.
As a civic innovation non-profit committed to enhancing digital futures and advancing citizen participation, accountability, and transparency in governance and dedicated to bridging the gap between grassroots communities and government, PROMAD reaffirms its mission to empower state and non-state actors through data-driven strategies, AI-powered and safety tools, and deliberative processes that make governance more responsive, transparent, and inclusive. The organisation also renews its vision to become Africa’s leading civic tech, data and innovation organisation by 2030, strengthening participatory democracy.
Key Strategic Priorities for Scaled Impact
Building on proven platforms such as FollowTheProjects and Isunawa AI (“Our Budget”), the 2026–2030 Strategy centres on institutionalising participatory budgeting and subnational public project tracking in at least ten to fifteen States. These AI-enabled tools enable citizens to assess community needs, monitor budget implementation in real time, track project status (completed, delayed, or abandoned), and generate actionable insights that inform responsive public spending.
Core pillars of the strategy include:
- Strengthening digital governance, expanding digital platforms and interactive dashboards for citizen engagement in budgeting, elections oversight, and policy processes at national and sub-national levels.
- Scaling participatory democracy models—hybrid citizens’ town halls, hybrid fellowships, and community-led needs assessments, particularly following local government autonomy reforms.
- Strengthening capacity of youth, women, persons with disabilities, civil society organisations, and sub-national officials through training, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing on social accountability, digital skills, AI & data literacy, policy advocacy, entrepreneurship and organisational development.
- Advancing transparency and open data initiatives that create robust feedback loops between citizens and government institutions.
- Prioritising inclusive participation so that marginalised and underrepresented voices shape development priorities in education, health, infrastructure, climate, gender, women and youth leadership, etc.
- Fostering collaborative governance through strategic partnerships with donor organisations, development partners, government agencies, and the private sector.
- Develop and implement digital systems, research, and produce content to mobilise Nigerians for civic education, electoral participation and legislative engagement.
- Lastly, expand civic tech solutions and participatory governance models to other African countries by 2030.
“These efforts directly support local, state, national and other regional and international development agenda such as the African Union’s Agenda 2063, and Sustainable Development Goals, especially those related to strong institutions, reduced inequalities, and partnerships for the goals, while contributing to more effective service delivery and public resource management in critical sectors”, said the executive director, Daisi Omokungbe.

The 2026–2030 Strategy is designed for co-creation and scaled impact. PROMAD invites donor organisations, bilateral and multilateral development partners, philanthropic foundations, government ministries, departments and agencies, state and local governments, civil society networks, and private-sector innovators to join us as partners and funders.
Together, we can expand the reach of civic technology solutions, institutionalise participatory practices across more States and local governments, build the next generation of civic leaders, and generate rigorous evidence of what works in advancing accountable governance and sustainable development. Investments in this strategy will multiply impact by leveraging AI, data analytics, and community mobilisation to transform how public resources are planned, allocated, and monitored.
“Our civic technology products are not merely about platforms—they’re about redistributing power, enhancing transparency, and enabling inclusive, data-driven governance that delivers tangible results for communities and citizens,” Mr Omokungbe said.
“With this strategy, we are committing to scale proven approaches so that every citizen, especially youth and women, regardless of location or background, can meaningfully shape the decisions that affect their daily lives. We call on partners who share this vision to walk with us,” he added.
